HER CHILD SWALLOWED A PEG PIN

WAS IT THE MOTHER'S FAULT?

Hello Eveyone and Kudos to the brain and admin of this great group, this is my first post here, my son is two years old today and I want to share his testimony. Few weeks after his one year old birthday, he swallowed the metal inbetween a peg, it was a Saturday and he was playing with his older brother who was 3years old then at the terrace, while I and hubby were loosing ma hair in the sitting room when suddenly the older brother rushed in "mummy freddy is vomiting blood" I rushed to the scene and saw my bowl of pegs on the floor, and freddy vomiting blood and crying, tried hitting his back to bring whatever he swallowed out but
the blood kept increasing, without thinking, barefooted, I rushed him to the Catholic hospital I gave birth, the nurse on duty was so non-chalant saying "madame were u dey when the boy dey swallow metal? " abeg don't use your cry to disturb me o" despite seeing the boy bringing out blood from struggling to get the metal from his throat, I was finally allowed to see a doctor after 30mins and he told us to go to asokoro general hospital, that they can't handle it, we rushed there and met another drama, the fat lady we met in the pediatric unit did not even get up from her seat, after explanation, she said "madame wen u guys are careless, you come in here and start crying, please take him to Maitama hospital, we can't do anything here, we rushed again to Maitama, meanwhile my boy was now vomiting black substance, and was weak from vomiting, getting there the doctor said their xray machine is bad so we need to go get an xray done outside, bring the result before they can attend to him and we should hurry becos the boy was already in distress, we rushed out again, this time ma hubby who was trying to calm me down, broke down in tears, we checked echo scan, closed, another one, closed, because it was a Saturday and it was already after 6pm, so we decided to go to national hospital, after all the registration process, they said it's and E&T specialist that would attend to him and he's not around now but luckily he was asleep and calm, we waited for about 90mins there, out of restlessness, we went to paediatric section hoping to hasten it up, they were quite supportive but said we still had to wait for the E&T doctor, after 2hrs, the doc came around, we went for xray and saw were the metal was lodged inbetween his lungs and oesophagus so the doc said he wld be operated on, hearing that I passed out exhausted from crying and the fear of the operation, we waited, while they gathered the team of doctors to operate on him, sumfin he swallowed around 1pm in the afternoon was finally taken out by 1am in the morning, he kept going for checkups but I thank God becos the healing was rapid. Hes quite an handful and I still thank God for him, for me and for everyone who can relate with this testimony. when things go wrong atimes, we tend to always blame the mother instead of lending a helping hand or just saying a kind word, God bless Lola and everyone behind this group who have taught me and other women to be less judgemental, lost all my pixs from the incident.
